More than half of all indoor water use takes place in the bathroom. Many believe that showering uses less water than bathing because of how much water it takes to fill a bath, but really, that depends on how you use the shower.

To save both water and electricity, get an energy and water-saving showerhead. Many of these heads have a guaranteed flow rate of around 9 Litres per minute or less. They use a special low flow regulator to dramatically reduce the flow of water, but this does not have any effect on the shower experience at all. Many people believe that installing such a showerhead would leave them standing under a weak dripping shower, but that really is not the case. In fact, you wouldn’t even notice the difference, but you would notice that you are saving a huge amount of water and power when your bill comes. A quality water-saving showerhead would alone cut the water and electricity consumption in half for showers!
