Having a washer and dryer in your home is a huge saving of time and money, but there are some issues that you could run into if they are not installed correctly. Take your dryer for example. It is vital that it is vented correctly since there will be a lot of steam escaping when you are drying your laundry. In fact, by some estimates, there will be about a gallon of water in your average load of laundry. You can tell the difference in weight when you put the wet laundry into the dryer compared to when you take it back out, and that should let you know how much moisture you are dealing with.
So how should your dryer be vented? You might be confused by devices that are sold to allow your dryer to vent inside your home, but this is a bad idea. Instead, your dryer should be vented outside of your home. The vent should be as straight as possible, to avoid collection of lint inside of it.
